One Planet Picnic

Report by P4-P7

On Tuesday the 12th of March, we finished the One Planet Picnic poster and map of Mull. Then Mark and Fiona from Education Scotland came to film us!

We taught P1-3 about the One Planet Picnic, Fairtrade, Food Miles and Sustainability. Then we set up a Scavenger Hunt for P1-3. Amy ran in the school and said “There has been a Rubbish Monster outside, it exploded!” On the Scavenger Hunt the P1-3 class picked up what we had scattered around the playground.

“When I came to school I brought Devilled Eggs made from eggs from my chickens!”

“When we had the picnic we went from P1-7. When P7 had got theirs, the adults went to the table and got theirs. There was still quite a lot of food at the end of the picnic. Some people took the leftovers home and we left the waste food to feed the birds”.

“There was lots of bread, sausage rolls and pretzels. For pudding I made jam tarts”

“We ate and talked about the ingredients and added them to our map of Mull”.

Comments from P1-P3

Article 24 (health and health services)

Every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food, and a clean environment and education on health and well-being so that children can stay healthy. Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this.
