Tag Rugby – Message from Active Schools

Our FINAL Tag Rugby Festival of the season is this Saturday 19th May held as the curtain raiser for the Isle of Mull RFC Annual 7’s Tournament! We will have a 10.30am start and aim to finish at approx. 12 noon when we will then have our presentation of the Scarlett Cup, Garmony Quaich and McGochan’s Fair Play Trophy. All trophies will be played for throughout the morning! All players competing in the Festival will be presented with an IOMRFC medal. Also, the team who has consistently been most successful throughout the year will be presented with the Golden Rugby Ball which they will take back to their school until next season!

We will also be presenting our prestigious Award this term to a young player in Recognition of their commitment and service to the game of Rugby. Tag Rugby coaches and Mini Rugby coaches will together, select the player for this term who shows commitment to the Tag Rugby Programme and Mini Rugby Section, including attending training and playing in festivals and competitions. This player will be added to the Term Time Outstanding Rugby Player Board joining Alexander Quinn and Logie Johnstone, our previous winners. Any other involvement in the game of rugby will be considered for this prestigious award.

Rugby players should be changed ready to start at 10.30am, bring football/rugby boots (if they have them) and warm and waterproof clothing.

We would also ask that parents bring a contribution to hospitality for the children for the morning!

Any queries please get in touch with Babs or Fergus.
